Design and build studio OPMAATT developed the designer chair 'Useless Chair'. Together with them we took up the challenge to visualize this luxury product in a tasteful way, with an eye for the refined finish and simplicity of the chair.
After a kick-off meeting, we started working on the storyboard and coming up with creative shots for an optimal wow-effect.
The most striking shot is the spinning chair. We came up with a construction in which the chair rotated on a fishing line. After a successful day of shooting in the studio, we got to work editing the product video. We removed the fishing line from the video frame by frame, making the chair appear to actually float.

A creative product video does not come out of the blue. Good preparation is essential for a strong end result. After an extensive brainstorming session with the client, we got to work on creative ideas. We created a storyboard and sketched a construction for the wow-shot of the floating chair. Finally, complete production plan was ready before we started shooting.
The shot of the floating chair is the big eye-catcher of this video. We came up with a wooden construction to which we dangled the chair from a thin fishing line. Wondering how this looked on set? The shots are taken, the footage is loaded. Time for the final step, editing! We have a great shot of the floating chair, but in the shot the fishing line can be seen. This way, of course, it is not a floating chair. Watch the video to the right to see how we managed to remove the fishing line from the shot frame by frame. Hours of work, but well worth the effort!
